31 Jul Fire cadets formalise partnership with Massey Shaw Education Trust
On Monday 31 July 2017, members of the London Fire Brigade Fire Cadets and David Rogers (Director) from the Massey Shaw Education Trust signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.
The Memorandum of Understanding formalises the work of the two organisations and provides a platform for both parties to work together in improving the opportunities offered to young people.
One area in which both organisations have decided to demonstrate their cohesion is in the formation of a Marine Cadet Unit, based at Lambeth River Pontoon. The unit would offer a new and wide-ranging set of skills and provide a link to the work of the LFB s River Service and Massey Shaw.
Other partner organisations will be in involved in the delivery of the Unit, and funding opportunities will be explored through the Heritage Lottery Fund Young Roots Grant and other funding streams.
The unit is due to commence in the Autumn, and we look forward to supporting this exciting new venture.
