Lord Greenway is an independent elected member of the House of Lords where he has specialised in maritime affairs since 1975. He is joint chairman of the Associate All-Party Parliamentary Ports & Maritime Group and chaired the Joint Pre-Legislative Scrutiny Committee on the Marine & Coastal Access Bill (2009).

He has wide experience of marine charities having chaired the Marine Society, the Sail Training Association and the World Ship Trust and also served on the RNLI Council. He is an Elder Brother of Trinity House and an Honorary Fellow of the Nautical Institute and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology.

David S Rogers was born in Essex and joined the London Fire Brigade in 1978 serving mainly at fire stations in the east end of the capital. He joined the Massey Shaw M.V.Pres Society in 1983 after reading an article about the fireboat in the London Fireman Magazine and the need to preserve her. He has been with the Society ever since, becoming a Director in the 1980’s,and undertaking a series of different roles within the organisation culminating with becoming Project Manager for the successful restoration of the vessel in 2010.

He is currently involved with the organisations Fire Cadet Project and archiving programme.

He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Firefighters, a Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers and a member of the City of London Guide Lecturers Association. He is married and lives in Essex.

John founded and ran his own construction business in Greenwich for many years, being a past Chairman of the South Eastern Area of The Building Employers Confederation. Latterly, for a number of years he was Chief Executive of the South East London Chamber of Commerce. As a contractor to The London Fire Brigade he first came into contact with Massey Shaw Fire Boat, in the very earliest years of the Preservation Society. John has extensive sailing experience as a sometime owner of his
own yacht.

He is Chairman of the Sea Cadet Unit in the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich. He is a Freeman of The City of London and a Freeman of The Company of Watermen and Lightermen of The River Thames. John has extensive experience and knowledge of working with charitable organisations including presently, Chairman of a South London group of (RDA) Riding for The Disabled Association, incorporating Carriage Driving. He has twice been Chairman of a Home Office Lay Visitors Panel. John is a past Club President in Rotary International. His hobbies include the restoration of prestigious classic motor cars.

He and has two sons and four grandchildren. He is a Director of the Massey Shaw and Marine Vessels Preservation
Society.

Bill is a chartered accountant, qualifying in 1986. He has extensive experience in the private, public and not-for-profit-sectors. Bill was the Vice President for Finance andAdministration at Richmond the American International University inLondon, between 2000-2012. He is now the Chief Operating Officer for the Gemmological Association of GB.
For 10 years Bill was a volunteerfinancial adviser at the Barking and Dagenham Citizen’s Advice Bureau, specialising in tax and V.A.T. resolution as well as being on theManagement Committee. As well as the Massey Shaw Bill is also a trustee of the Ethical Property Foundation.

Colin joined Massey in 2013 and is responsible for boat operations and engineering, he is qualified as coxswain, engineer and deck crew. Until 1971 he had a successful career in the construction industry, thereafter serving in the London Fire Brigade, rising to Station Commander. In 1984 he served as officer in charge of the London Phoenix fireboat from its entry into service, obtaining several maritime qualifications to support this post. After 30 years he retired from the LFB and for the next 14 years was involved in managing NVQ training of care staff nationally, whilst also acting as a consultant to care providers.

Peter has had a long career in the Marine Industry and as a qualified boat builder and experienced Yachtsman brings multiple skills to The Massey Shaw Educational Trust. Peter was honoured for services to the Marine Industry in 2010.

Having been a president of The British Marine Federation (BMF) and a president of the global International Council of Marine Industries (ICOMIA), Peter has a wide perspective of the UK and International Marine Industry.

His interest in the restoration and running of The Massey Shaw is due to the vessel being operational and not just a static museum piece. The maintenance and operation of such a historical vessel brings with it constant challenges to maintain operations and promote the educational value of The Massey Shaw.

Esther has over 15 yrs of experience running museums, was curator of the London Fire Brigade Museum and currently curator of the Museum of Army music. She is also trained in Conservation and all aspects of collection care. She is responsible for the Massey keeping to museum standards and practices, and is currently working towards Accreditation for the Massey Shaw. She oversees the archives and the conservation aspects of our collection.

Tom works at a communications agency called Design Portfolio and helps companies tell their story through digital channels; websites, social media and video. Tom manages our website, social media and online payments systems to ensure we continue to update our members and supporters as we attend events and educate the public on the importance of Massey Shaw.
