Main engine water pump overhaul

Main engine water pump overhaul

We have recently completed the overhaul of the main engine cooling water and bilge pumps.

These are now complete to install on the starboard engine when we are ready. Like lots of the engine parts these are essential to the safe running of the machinery and the safety of the boat.

What did we do?

The valve seats were reground and a bent stem replaced. As part of the refurb the pump piston seals were replaced with new packing courtesy of James Walker.

The use of correct high-quality parts is essential for the smooth running and longevity of the pumps.

Funding our engine rebuild

In order to restore, test and rebuild engine parts we are constantly looking for fundraisers, partners or sponsorship. So if you’re keen to help fund the engine rebuild please visit our donate page or contact us.
